Heh, I wouldn't complain about cable connections if I were you...
Where I am (Maitland, NSW Australia), our telco company "Telstra" is refusing to put Optical Fibre in (because our area was deemed not to grow, yet it has tripled in the last year alone). This means that Cable Modems, Frames, T*, OC* and ISDN connections are not available.
400Kb Satellite downstreams are available but at a huge cost ($80.00 AUS per month for decent download limits (usually only 1 to 2Gb) which doesn't include your modem based Upstream connection).
Tandem Modems (dual 56kbps v.90 modems) are not allowed on most ISPs either.
Whats about the three DSL's (DSL, ADSL, XDSL)? well due to the distance between base stations the cost to get it installed and monthly access is very very expensive.
So, I wouldn't complain about cable or ADSL access, be happy you got it all.
