host from your PC?

is there a guide where i can set up a database and all that good stuff to host a site from my PC?

why would you want to host from your own PC? If you are using cable or DSL that can be illegal..

Definately before you do anything you should check with your ISP to see if this is possible. Most ISP do not allow it unless you pay for that service. If you do it on a regular DSL you may find yourself with a bill and/or a lawsuite.

Yes, i use cable but to host my own site from my PC will charge me i had no idea... i guess i'll stick to the host i have now... my buddy host his own site off his PC... but he had high-speed [dial-up] not cable... so i guess i won't even bother... Thanks anyways!

Your friend is probably violating his ISP's rules too. It's a risky game as most ISP's have lots and lots of money and lawyers.

HEy,
Glad i stumbled on this. Most definately checking with the isp is first. hytekhosting.com first used optimum online, lol. They ended up with a threat of termination if the hosting did not stop!

search find dsl in a search engine and you will find a few sites to get you a business dsl if you want
