Talking hosting a site
hi there I was thinking of putting up my own site but I really don know how to go about it. (new to this)
Could anyone suggest a good host that supports asp and whats a domain?

Well I will let the others suggest a good host as I am biased on hosts.

A domain name though is a URL, or link that you purchase. For example my Domain Name is www.monsterhosting.ca. You will should purchase a domain name when you get hosting or prior to buying hosting.

I have to commend your restraint in throwing a plug in there for your company. That's what sigs are for anyway!

Windows hosting (true ASP support) is considerably more expensive than a *nix based host. Take monsterhosting's prices for example: 150MB/5GB on Windows is $20/mo, but only $5/mo on a *nix machine.

A URL is a computer's address on the internet in human recognizable form.

It doesn't matter where you are, only where the hosting company is. If you can find one local for you, then it might be less. I really don't know.

hi icepricessa,

you in malaysia or singapore? you can try www.ipxcess.com, located in Malaysia. I used to host from them since 1999 but not anymore, service & response time not bad, quite reliable. but anyhow you can google to check around for more options. good luck. if you find a reasonable price hosting company, please let me know, save me the trouble of looking for in the near future.
