Hosting for 6 busy(ish) sites

We have been talking with a prospective client who wishes to host 6 sites on Linux.

Basic info:

Approx. 10,000 Pages Lo-Graphics/Hi-Text ~20kb each
Very Basic eCommerce (<6 products using worldpay)
Basic PHP/MySQL
U.S. Based Market

The sites are attracting high traffic (900,000 visits across the network in July) and this is expected to treble over the coming year

I haven't yet seen the figures for actual bytes transferred but we may be needing 100Gb bandwidth or more

Also the client has expressed a wish for each site to have it's own unique IP address

So basic reqs:

U.S. Based Servers
500-1000Mb Space
100-200Gb Bandwidth
Very High Guaranteed Uptime a must
Unique IP for each site
Telephone and Email Support


I am not sure if this means going dedicated (times 6 maybe) or if a large shared server will do it.

The client is prepared to pay the extra bit for good service and support but wishes to avoid the expense of 6 separate packages. Obviously we will expect to charge our fee for the service too as we will be managing it for him.

Can anyone recommend a host? Many thanks for any guidance.

yeah but for a few more dollars a month, he can get a dedicated server at say rackshack with 700gb monthly transfer and 60gb hard drive...

But does RackShack have the SLA that we do?

network uptime, but if you want unlimited access and want to install anything you want on your server then its better. it may just be a personal thing, but i'd rather pay more to have more control.

plus, keeping your own server online isn't that hard, as long as you keep virus and trojan things up to date, then you should be okay...

I have had a good look around hosting companies.

We haven't yet gone far enough down the hosting road to buy an empty server and hope we have everything installed/covered while hosting a real paying high traffic client. Also there is the time investment.
