How do you spot a scam?

Four days ago I signed up with a company (mentioned frequently in these pages) for some hosting, whicj means they have $114 of my money. What have I had in return? Nothing except alot of emails saying 'Your ticket has been submitted to *insert department name*'. Should I just accept that I've been conned and move on, or could there be a very good reason why this is happening? For instance you Americans have just had Thanksgiving.... does that tend to mean you take the week off work and leave the autoresponder running the company?

You mean I have to wait at least four more days to know I've been shafted?

Well, their website appears to be up, apart from that I just keep getting fobbed off with ticket numbers while my 'complaint is being investigated'. Then they tell me all is well and there's a welcome email in my inbox. Fantastic except they haven't given me any way of actually accessing my space.

I won't mention their name just yet, give them a few more hours, they claim to be administering their business until 10pm EST. If they haven't put it right today I will have no hestitation in publishing their name in the biggest font size possible.

Just to round this one off I did eventually get a response from a real person and this problem seems to be resolved. So no need to name names.

Arrow

Hey,
Yea, thanksgiving is tough. A few of my guys go on vacation, including myself, but that doesn't limit us in terms of support.

We always have guys waiting for support tickets. Even so, wait until the holiday season.. (end of december)
