how would i start a hosting company what kind of line would i need? how do i track bandwidth?how do i track space?

you could use a program that most hosts use to track bandwidth/space, it is called webhosting manager. We use it and it is included with all our reseller accounts.

You could host websites of a machine that is quite powerful, but RAM is they key. You could really use a 1.2Ghz processor, but 512MB of RAM plus, should be used. I advise using apache as opposed to IIS as it is much more flexible. (Yes you need to learn about it, but its so much easier later!) As far as the line goes; Broadband will be ok for about 5 moderately big websites, and it can transfer about 80GB of data out per month. Obviously, i`m sure you`ll appreciate this isn`t ideal, as you are limited, however, the next upgrade would be to a Leased Line, costing a lot more (perhaps £500+ per month). If you need more advice, don`t hesitate to ask, because I`m sure we`d be pleased to help you!

I would suggest you start off with a reseller package and work your way up to a dedicated machine.

well i would like to set up a biz doing iti would like to no waht i need what i need to do then if it all goes good ill set up hosting maybei dont no which mail server to use
