How would I make my own server a host so people could access it?
Like, there are plenty of websites where you enter http://ip.ip.ip.ip
such as http://67.8.158.17/ How would i make it so that people could access my computer like that? Right now, i have http://localhost/ |

I'm assuming you're meaing web server...
The question I have for you is, what is your provider to the internet? I i know some home high speed internet blocks port 80, which is the default port for web serving. You still can do it by changing it to a different port. If you could me exactly what you're doing, maybe I can point you to a more specific direction. Alan ServerPacket.com |

Yeah, a web server.
my provider is comcast cable, if that's an adequate answer. |

I have two clients that both have comcast, and only one of them can host on port 80.
Here's the most easiest way to setup a complete web server with php/mysql http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/fastwork/fastwork1.exe?download Good luck. Please let me know if you need any other help Alan ServerPacket.com |

gimp, have you tried doing http://your.ip.in.here ? If you don't know your external IP address you can nab it quickly off of http://www.whatismyip.com
