For requirements like this, i think it's safer to go with a big and well-established company like hostgator.com or serverpoint.com.

You would probably be interested in a low level package

We offer one starting at $4.95/mo which would probably be best for you

Remember that cheaper is not always better!

Visit dionhosting.com for more info.

If your requirements are cheap and good, you may look into free hosting providers' deals, say www.000webhosting.com. There are also cheap deals from www.Hqhost.net.

Monv

Your question is very "generic" and you dont tell anybody what your requirements are.

there are tons of hosting companies on this planet, all of them different in many ways, so it helps if you specify what your needs are if you know?

Generally though, its worth avoiding companies that offer "unlimited everything, for the price of a cup of coffee" or those that clearly want to give you entire datacentre's worth of bandwidth for less than the cost of 1 memory chip.

If cost is your ONLY #1 factor, then your web site is obviously not too important to you, so it probably wouldnt matter where you host your web site?

I can recommend you cheap and quality web hosting services from WebHostGiant.com, Lypha.com and MarbleHost.com. Many advantages you may get from them being their clients.

I think Hostgator's is a safe bet. I'm yet to see an unsatisfied customer from them. Most are raving.

Might be worth contacting them and asking them where their support is now based, We asked them on MSN and they told us they were all outsourced to India

Also, if you look for reviews and feedback on hostgator, you can find it just as easily as other companies, most are not "raving", it looks more like a "mixed opinion".

Not to be negative or anything, but I am pretty sure that there is something wrong with BloodHosting.com. I signed up there and now when you try to go there it gives a 404 error. I'm guessing they are having a problem or they are a scam.

Its definately down. Out of intereset, what made you choose a company in Canada with a name like that?

They cant be very big if they are registering their domain name with hostgator too. (Either that or Brent @ hostgator owns bloodhosting, which wouldnt be the first time I've seen his name on many other hosting company WHOIS lookups)

Well that stinks, that means I lost 40 bucks on them. Wow, that's a setback.

My friend referred me, I saw low prices and agreed with him.
