Angry Imhosted

I have quite happily had a reseller account for about a year with Imhosted. Cant complain too much about it. Theres been some down time, but generally the servers seem to be up and Mysql and PHP seems to run ok. Requests for support have been answered within 24 hours.
When I signed up for the resellers account, I took the offer for a free dot com and added that do my australian address. A couple of weeks a go the dot com expired! Not good...The expiry date was listed incorrectly in my account details and I thought it was due to expire in November. Silly me for not doing a whois and having a closer look.
I have been trying to contact the accounts department to get the domain renewed. I cannot see any method there for automatically renewing with my credit card, so I emailed about every possible address there to get some help in renewing the dot com. I have emailed billing@, domreg@ and have been constantly using the general support form to see if I can get a response. I DO get a response from that, a nice polite apology with the promise that my problem will be forwarded to the department concerned. Well...thats happened a several times now..and I am damn careful to inidicate the reply address as not being the one of the exp domain.
Its coming up to 20 days now since it expired and for 14 of those days I have been emailing madly. I even found an Australian phone number for Imhosted on the Imhosted site. It looked pretty impressive beside a picture of some flash looking high rise in queensland. The number is, however, out of order.
I have been in contact with Imhosteds domain name wholesaler who tell me I cannot renew directly through them, but at least, I can regain control of the domain directly through them after 20 days. So 3 days to go. It will be nice to have it back.
I never expected brilliant service from a cut price host, but this has been rediculous.

Re: Imhosted

Who are they regestering the Domain Names through?

You can maybe go through the register company like OpenSRS allows you to transfer to another reseller and away you go.

Thanks for your reply. Thankfully, the problem is over now. A small 2 line response after 2 weeks informed me that they had renewed.
Their wholesaler is onlineNic who informed me I could not transfer the name without Imhosteds permission. Still very wary about Imhosted now and are looking to move out of there. Your own packages look pretty good actually.

Unhappy What the hell happened to IMHosted?

Does anyone know? I just tried to access my site and keep being fowarded to some other domain site. And when i try to access the imHosted website, the same thing happens! I even called the domain site i was landing on and a recorded message said that the website i was trying to located had most likely gone out of business!

I never received any notification about imHosted going out of business—net even an email telling me that i would need to transfer my site!

What kind of business is this? Is anyone else having the same problem? Does anyone know how long this has been happening?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
