In search of a new web host...
Hey Guys,
I am in search of a web host that will allow multiple mysql databases and will not charge me 5 bucks or so for each one. Can anyone give me any suggestions? URL Thanks, Michael |

Try out www.phpwebhosting.com : unlimited MySQL, subdomains and emails 9.95/month
So far I've had no problems with them, set up on MySQl is 5 minutes. NuCleuZ |

Get it? Offtopic. There is web hosting forum here, and since you do not even have word 'php' in your post, it is the offtopic post of the year. At least so far ![]()

Yes, if I recall correctly, they use SSL for online ordering.

un-metered does not mean un-limited, so check again I bet they have something like 'unmetered up to 2 gigs' or something of that matter. One more thing, un-metered/limited/restricted/etc usage is, most of the times, one or another sort of bs they use to attract customers, so read through usage contract first before signing long-term deals.

I need something with more gigs of transfer a month. Maybe something like 10-15 gigs to start out with for about $10 to $15 bucks a month. I tried E mailing phpwebhostince TWICE and I never got a response. If they can't reply to two E mails in a 3 day period I wonder how good their tech support really is.

I don't understand why these companies do not have phone numbers. 8host.com looks really good and they have great packages but no phone number. Also, when you click on get an account it makes you pay via pay pal. Phpwebhosting still has not E mailed me back and I even called them yesterday and left a voice mail. Amazing isn't it?

The phrase "unmetered traffic" on the front page of PHPWebHosting.com is a link describing what their system of bandwidth is (up to 5GB or in that neighborhood before there's a problem). They also have a box on the right of their front page and a link on the left for contacting them. They explicitly state that they don't do the telephone thing for cost-efficiency reasons and that emails not send through their system will not receive prompt responses. If you used the box or the link and still haven't gotten a response, then I agree you have cause for concern. With one exception, I have always gotten same-day responses. If you sent a regular email though, try again with the box.
