Thumbs down iNetter Whine Thread

I will try to say this without getting agitated then.

iNetter webhosting is a bunch of crap.

Uptime tests ran by people judging and analyzing inetter are made against their main server, which is practically always up - after all, that is where their main page is and that is how they earn money. The bad side is ofcourse, that people hosted are condemned to ****ty servers.

Take for example today: the server has been offline for 8 hours. 8 HOURS.

iNetter guarantees a 99.9 % (I think netcraft has a 99.6 % on them) uptime, which would mean that they should now follow this period with 800 hours of uptime. I wish.

"But, OutElf, is it always like this?" No. From time to time, the server works for several days. There is just too much downtime - I have taken my site down because it is getting a bad name from the lousy uptime (no, iNetter cannot be held responsible BUT THEY ARE).

"Yes, but iNetter offers many other things and their price is still competitive on the market. Cpanel, htaccess, random error docs and so on. 50 gb bandwidth, 1000 mb space. Still sounds fair, to me." You will regret it. All of these things does not matter if the site is down.

So, what now?
http://www.status.inetter.net unfortunately does not mention how long the server has been down. 8 hours is from when I woke until now.

Conclusion:
iNetter holds a great service. Price is astonishing and service is by the minute. But the hosted site is down... And that's why I wanted a hotel.

I rate iNetter: 2/10 (extraordinarily bad, not 1 because they after all got good service and price)

Contact me if you wish to discuss this in private at admin@thedyinggrounds.com. I won't answer, because iNetters server is down, but hey...

Edit: I estimate the uptime somewhere between 50 and 75 %

Thank you, I sure will. After 10 months, when my subscription with iNetter runs out =b

Yes I know it might seem like a repetitive post, but people must be warned...

iNetter is an obvious one to avoid. Ever notice how their special always ends in a couple hours, yet they've had that same special for a extremely long time? Also notice how their toll free number always brings up a voice message system and yet their live support is never on? These are obvious signs that you should stay far away.

I find it funny you are sticking with them for another 10 months.

I would suggest looking at http://www.webhostingtips.info

If your site is that important I would suggest trying to get your money back, if you can't accept the mistake (as you are at fault here as well) and find a new host.

Whoa,
I thought Inetter was a half decent host. Seemed to offer good pricing and servers and everything, but downtime would obviously be a problem. Are they stuffing their servers or what?

Tried calling their support phone line.... ring, ring ring, auto hangup. Not very convincing.
