Question Is ImHosted out of business?

Does anyone know? I just tried to access my site and keep being fowarded to some other domain site; buyDomains.com. And when i try to access the imHosted website, the same thing happens! I even called the buyDomains.com and a recorded message said that the website i was trying to located had most likely gone out of business!

I never received any notification about imHosted going out of business—I didn't even get an email telling me that i would need to transfer my site!

What kind of business is this? Is anyone else having the same problem? Does anyone know how long this has been happening?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. I don't know where to go for info. I can't even find a phone number to try and contact the company!

Thanks!

No I dont,

I can help you though as you seem to be in some sort of panic. If you wish to transfer over to me I will give you 30% off per month. Just let me know ;-)

I realy hate hosting providers who leave you stranded, which is why we promise to give 4 months notice, if we were to ever stop business. Which we wont ofcourse

PM me if you are interested.

The above post speaks of a company at "104 B Street" in Lynden Washington.

You should be aware that recently, ABZMedia.com is also a web hosting company alleged to be from 104 B Street, Lynden.

This company, and probably any company with that address (search it in Google and be amazed) is not American. The company that leases 104 6th Street Suite B is called "Valis Group" and can be found at URL and is a Canadian company that sets up foreigners to LOOK like the real American deal.

ABZMedia, who also has this address, is a fraud from Holland and has scammed several people out of thousands. For more information, compare the two web pages:
URL (which no longer shows the Lynden address)
URL (which is a warning to users)

If you are using a web hosting company from the above address, check your bank records immediately. Report any fraud to Lynden Washington police URL c/o Detective Lee Beld at URL

And good luck!!!

Wow, this site kicks ***!!! Thanks for the tip. I did that Google search and there are about 50+ sites operating under that address.

I just did more homework. How can this be known by us and they still get away with it? I will admit I was an idiot and had an account with ImHosted about 6 months ago. Sure enough they list their address as the one above. Explains why their service sucked so hard.

Well the things you learn when u get cheated...

1... Next time I pick somebody to do business with, I'll go to Internic (start there anyway) and look at the registration data. That is what the person above suggested (and gracefully showed) for IMhosted.

What I learned about lovely ABZMEDIA.COM is that this "corporation" only registered for one year, just last August. That is a huge red flag for a "corporation".

The other major red flag is they only registered the dot COM. They didn't take the Net, Org, and other common extentions. And of course, hehehe, too bad I now own the dot Net because now I can easily find the other victims.

2... Do a trace route. You can do this easily by pulling up a DOS prompt, type in "tracert URL" or put in their DNS and see where it goes. The last referring computer to ABZMedia is located in The Netherlands...

There are NO American companies, at 104 6th Street, Suite B, Lynden, WA.

The plot thickens...

Litmus test for findind a hosting company

1)If you want to see how stable a company is then give them a call.

"But they dont have a phone number." you say.

Well thats not a very good thing.

If you cannot call a company and get a live person on the phone then you do not want to give them any money AT ALL! Use them if they give their service for free but dont give them a card number.

2)Can you get a hold of someone on the phone 24/7?

This is a great measure of how commited a company is to serving you. This doesnt have to be a toll free number, because if paying for the call is your problem then you can send them an email or use one of their other support methods. At least the phone is always there in case you absolutely need it. (Try to keep in mind that a toll free number is really expensive for the company running it, add that to the cost of the call center.)

70% of fraud in the US is commited on the Internet. Buyer beware.

Angry Imhosted fraud

I purchased my first domain name from them in november and havnt checked the site lately. I tried to access my ftp today and when it didnt work I searched the internet and found this thread. Is there anything we can do ?? Would a credit card dispute work if i prepaid for 6 months of hosting ?? This really SUCKS. Their site seemed totally legit when I bought the domain, what gives ? If anyone has any addtional information about this company please post it, thanks.
