Hello- I am new here.

I have http://www.website1.com hosted at mindspring. I have just purchased http://www.website2.net w/ joker.com and I want the website2 to point directly to website1

Does website2 need to be hosted with mindspring as well, or do I just need to assign website2 to the same IP numbers that website1 has?

Joker.com help is very hard to understand, but from what I gathered; I need to assign my website2 an IP number, or according to joker, a "coho-####".

I'm not sure what my IP is because when I searched it this is all I got...>>

no IP address?

I know that this problem is very specific, and kind of out there, but I am really in a bind here and would greatly appreciate any help. Thank you very much for your time.

They can be hosted (DNS) by different companies if you want. All you have to do is have the zone file on the DNS server point to the web server that the site is on. So if you have http://www.website1.com and http://www.website2.net and the page is on 192.168.0.1 then have both of the DNS servers point to this ip. Also on the web server (assuming it is apache) httpd.conf needs to be set up for website1.com and website2.net
