From the hoster I need,
3 - 5 gig space
2 mysql databases
php 5
php safe mode off
ftp layer enable (prefered)
ftp upload
Can you recommend anyone whos anygood?

I have been with Lunarpages.com for 5 yrs, with no problems.
I also use Bluehost.com for some of my projects for about 4 yrs.
Had one ddos attack and on another incident, server was down for about a 1 hr, support switched to backup very quickly.
AIT.com is also recommended - they specialize in business hosting only.
That's my experience.

There are plenty of web host available today. There are good hosts but some are not really that good thus it gives negative result. You need to consider a lot of things in choosing your host like your budget, the reliability of the product based on pass performances and also its reviews
Try to check the following web hosts:
1. hostgator
2. justhost
3. godaddy
4. EUKHost
5. bluehost
6. hostmonster
7. host clear
It will be beneficial to learn some of them so that you may compare features and prices at the same time.

I think they are many reliable hosting companies which have the resources you require, such as:
Bluehost
hostgator
hillock hosting
godaddy, etc.
