looking for host with php, pgsql and great uptime

I am helping design a site for a client that wants a new host. He was on FeaturePrice so some such, but the uptime and tech support were not good, according to him. He is leaning towards tera-byte.com right now, and he said they can support PostgreSQL.

He has a registered domain, and plans to have a couple sub-domains. The most important features are PHP4 and PostgreSQL, but CGI is probably a given these days. SSH access would be nice, but not necessary. The bandwidth should be on the 10-20GB/month range and the disk space upwards of 100-200MB. Nice extras are Webalizer (or comparable), access to raw logs, and some POP/IMAP accounts.

But since he is switching because of uptime and tech support issues, obviously the new host must have some kind of guarantee in this area.

And I think the price range he is shooting for is about $15/month. Perhaps this is possible? Most pgsql hosts seem to be expensive. Thanks in advance.

pgsql hosts are expensive because barely anyone uses them- most ppl use mysql if they use a database at all

As it turns out, tera-byte.com does in fact support pgsql, they just don't advertise it. I don't see why more commericial hosts wouldn't offer it. It's really a more reliable database system.

well, there are tons of products out there that ARE better than what most people use, but most never get a fighting chance, since ppl use mysql more, there are more tutorials, scripts, forums, etc. that use it, and thus, you get even less ppl using the better product. It's just a matter of business and competition... welcome to Earth!
