    How do you measure your VPS performance?

    I was wondering if there are some standard commands you run to measure:

    * Disk read/write speeds
    * Network up/down stream
    * CPU power
    * Other things?

    And what's acceptable and what's excellent in terms of values?

    Thank you!

    From what I've seen the main measure of "performance" on a VPS is CPU speed and RAM That are allocated to the VPS. Not a lot of places will publish date like i/o speeds because these are all going to change depending on the physical server, load, etc.

    As for value, that's up to you. Normally the best guide for value is to get the best specs that you can for the budget that you have to work within. This also depends on what you need the server to do. There's a BIG difference between running a smallish Wordpress installation to running something like say... ebay.
