Did you have backups on your computer?
Never just keep all your files on a server only, always have a backup on your computer.
As for your host, was it free hosting or paid? If paid how much did you pay?

Planet_asia. This is completly unacceptable and most likely one of the stupidest things I have ever seen on these forums. What does all of that porn and mp3 files that were stored on my server have to do with a school project? Taking sex-ed? From the prof. of your response, it seems to me you must not have yet

Planet Asia, I specifically said no adult sites on the server. And posting your password to a forum that is part of basically a porn site isnt a wise idea. (Yes, he posted it to forums.entensity.net and claims thats a GREAT place for computer help, sure planet_asia.)

Below is my email communication with planet_asia. I am posting it in my defense. Due to how planet_asia agreed with my Free Hosting TOS when he signed up, I am in full complience with his privacy when I do this.

No planet_asia. You violated my terms of service and got my servers put on a spam list! There IPs were on there for 72 hours. This took me DAYS to clean up, and if I could I would charge you the $270 administrative fee that you deserve and agreed to in my TOS.

Pleasel learn, I cant just do this.

I dont have your backup. It was deleted along with the rest of your account when I terminated it. I shouldnt need to bother to download and get you your backup after you violated my TOS like that.

Does anyone else here agree/disagree?

Can I get a mod to delete this? This customer obviousally is at fault here. I dont need this or any type of publicity since this was a free account that I had the right to delete at anytime, and definatally if it violated my TOS.

If computer programming is uploading a bunch of mp3s to my server (your backup was FULL of them...so dont even bother for asking for it back)...then your computer programming teacher must be pretty stupid. Also, how does using phpbb to create a forum have anything to do with that? Its not like your programming PHPBB.

I didnt replace it with ads, I pointed the domain to my TOS violation page. I.E "This account was terminated on (date) for the following reasons:

-Spam
-Porn on free account
-mp3s on server
-No real site
-Violation of TOS

Last,

If I havnt been replying to all of your emails, what the hell is all of that above.

Finally, this is free hosting. I can terminate it anytime I damn well please! If you were a paying customer, I would have contacted you and discussed it. So why not move this to the free hosting forum?

It was free. He violated the TOS by sharing his user/pass, uploading mp3s, uploading porn, and by sending spam!

Thats enough for me to terminate it! If he is dumb enough to post his user/pass OPENLY on a site I seriousally dont want him! Get another free host!

Hello,
As a webhoster, I agree with your standpoint.

The account and backup has right to be deleted, especially if this is a 'free' website. I mean, the client is not even paying, so how can you be held liable for anything?

If I were you. I simply would not offer free hosting for this reason. Users abuse their accounts if they have it offered to them free.

Goodluck with everything; and happy holidays

Great... Brandon you do not need people like this fool

With freeHosting... you only encourage..people like this

As you know..once your IP is blacklisted by spam abuse org..it is a lot of effort to get unlisted again

I know some web hosts IP's have been blacklist for 6 months even though they have tried to cleanup the spammers

Good luck in the future..

Hey,
It's simple. To avoid the situation, simply do not offer them the free hosting.
