Question MySQL hosting info

Hi everyone,

I'm not familiar with popular hosting schemes, so I have a question here. If you buy hosting with MySQL are you allowed to create databases or are you only given one ready database and must operate on it.

Thans for your replies.

Depends upon the host, some allow you to create unlimited databases, some dont.

I'm writing a script which is going to use a database. Should i allow the user to choose an existing db instead of creating a new one?

Many hosts offer a diffent level of packages, but most (if not all) allow the end user to create a database through some sort of control panel.

The amount of databases allowed to create will vary from host to host, package to package.

Thanx,
I figured i'd still stick to the existing db option, at least i've already implemented it.
