Here is a link to the thread at WHT that I am refering to below.

URL

If the planet took your server, I will just about gurantee you that it is now in the hands of the FBI in Dallas. I have read a few posts at WHT, where the planet has done this. I can also just about gurantee you that you will not get it back, at least not working through the planet or servermatrix. One thread at WHT I read, the guy contacted the FBI in Dallas and they actually made a backup of the drive for him, and sent it too him, at their expense. They also told him that the planet had called them to come and get the server. It is these kind of posts about the planets policy's or tacticts that keep me away from them. Do I beleive the post, yes indeed, because someone at the planet got involved in the thread and made it clear that this did occur, and this is their policy. Act first and do not ask any questions.

thePlanet should not be blamed here, they are following the law. Any datacenter would have to do the same thing.

You say that it won't be up again. Navlem here won't refund me my money, I was up for merely 24 hours. Check out our GMAIL convo.

navlem: no, the TOS states that you are not liable for a refund if you do not backup your own files, or is impatient with server problems

me: Heh, Impatient with server problems eh? Don't guarantee 99% uptime if you can't have it up 99% of the time.
URL He says that you won't get your server back.. I'm not gonna wait around till you get it back now am I? It's been down for so long. How can a customer accept this?

What do you mean by i'm not liable for a refund if I don't back my own files? Let's face the fact that you're not a good host? Accept the truth and please refund me my money.
Thank you for your time.

navlem:it had even more than 99% uptime

it is said in the uptime policy

it excludes server maintenance, hardware problems, server abuse etc.

me: Okay, according to that post, your server will never be up again. How
long do you expect me to wait? Why do you not understand my point,
look at this from MY VIEW. Please refund me my money. You also have
not given me ANY INDICATIONS of your server coming back up.. I've
asked thrice now, no reply. What do you want me to think?

Pretty dissapointed myself, just signed up a few days before it went down hoping it would be a good service with all of the rave reviews.

I understand your circumstances are atypical, but no one was alerted or told of the seizure outside of this domain?

Hopefully the people at The Planet return my phone calls with the inquery about this. I will post any info that I find out.

Live and learn, maybe next time you'll check your options if you want a real host. For all of those that are currently with Navlem Hosting, I feel for you.

if you are only down for those 5 days in that month...
that puts you at 84.5% uptime...

yes, i'm truly sorry

i did not expect that, and i'm tightening security.

Sorry for everything, Good news is, i'm transferring all accounts to the Dual xeon server today

the domain should take 1 - 2 days to take effect, so to prevent files reverting back, please backup as often as possible from today onwards

I'll email everyone when the transfer is completed
