Need a domain name
I need a domain name that points to my computer's IP address. I am running a server with IIS from a cable modem. I do not need any hosting or space, just the domain name (I checked whois already and it is available).
Please reply if you have a good solution for this. Thanks. |

Yeah you can use GoDaddy for this and point it to your IP. If it is a dynamic IP then you may want to pay a bit extra from your ISP for a fixed IP.

Okay thanks. I BELIEVE my IP address is a "dynamic" IP, not "static", but how do I tell for sure?

Go to DOS (Start Run Type in CMD or Command).
At the prompt type in ipconfig /all If you see something that says DHCP Enabled then you have a dynamic IP. |
