NT4: Socket error 10051
Hello everyone,
We currently provide a POP3 service for a client using IMail v 6.0.02.362 running on IIS4. We now also wish him to be able to use SMTP. However, when our client tries to send mail via the SMTP address we have provided, he gets socket error 10051. We are not blocking access to port 25, which I believe is a common cause for this problem. Furthermore, whilst we don't provide a dialup service for this client, his dialup ISP doesn't block third party SMTP nor access to port 25. Does anyone know how we can get our client to use our SMTP server? Thanks in advance for any useful input ![]() |

You may want to post this in the Windoze forum. A lot of companies post BS in this forum, so most of the members seem to avoid it.
