Onehut.com too good to be true?
For $9.99 they offer a ridicoulous deal...I can't find anything on google about them. Anyone know if they are legit?

They are a reseller that is overselling. I would be careful if you are considering using this service. I have not used there service so my reason is based off my own opinion and not fact.

Can you find any reviews on them? They have two or three different domains that are identical..

I use them for a few sites right now, but if you need heavy lifting then they are not for you. I have some lightweight sites (html, basic PHP) and they're fine for those, but when I started doing some more serious PHP work the servers they have set up were not up to the task. Also, when one of my sites went down they all did =/ Shared hosting is fine for small sites, but they should limit the number of sites on a server to something more managable for the server. I mean, good older boxes are cheap really, might as well have something heavy duty running the show. |

A friend bought me a domain with them, and that's when the nightmare began... They double-bill, then claim they didn't, they make you jump thru endless hoops and send non sequitur emails that read like fortune cookies. They deny any blame or responsibility and never apologize. They have no clue about professionalism or customer support. They don't return calls, and don't sign their names to email. They are unreachable for service, but only too quick to overbill you. They act like scam artists. I would avoid them like the plague, and I am still stuck trying to transfer my account to a real web host site. Good luck with these idiots, they can't be serious about anything but taking your money, and trying to do it twice! |

i regret using onehut....
their "24/7 support" is never available, and i cant get a hold of phone support. what am i going to do? they wont reply about transferring the nameservers to my hosting account.... id just get a different registrar, but im afraid i'll lose rights to that domain. if anyone wants a review - forget onehut, go through a registrar like godaddy, where you can get everything setup within hours instead of days/weeks. |

Most of the cheaper webhosts have fake phone numbers on their website, usually because their using a free template and they couldn't get the phone number off the graphic :-p
Avoid those guys |

TomatoHut.com - OneHut.com - Enain.com - THIEVES!
After two years hosting a site with TomatoHut, and finding it nearly impossible to reach customer support - even when the website went offline - I finally wised up and moved the domain & hosting. I asked for instructions on how to transfer to another provider, and after several days I was sent a reply. I moved the site 7 weeks prior to the renewal date. When the renewal date rolled around, they took money from my PayPal account for the renewal (and they were not hosting the site anymore). They would not return my calls, or e-mails - I started a PayPal inquiry, and they would not reply to them either.
Additionally, when the account was first set up, the client's billing information was listed in the control panel. I had replaced the information with my own in order to transfer the site - they must have retained the client's info, because they charged them too! That's Two charges for a website they no longer hosted! Here is a link to the Canadian Better Business Bureau report on OneHut.com (which is TomatoHut's parent name) w w w .bbbmwo.ca/commonreport.html?bid=1135645 Currently, I am out $50 - the client is out $50, and out of principle I can't let it go (at this point) -AND I still have one site hosted by those thieves! I may need to let it lapse and hope the domain doesn't get snatched up while I wait for it! Avoid Like The Plague! |
