Opinions with Omnis web hosting or EV1?

I'm checking out this plan here:
http://www.omnis.com/webhosting_windows.php

My guess is at $10/month for 200 GB it's probably going to be a really ****ty connection...

Anyone have any experience with them?

How about EV1Servers.net? I've heard they're good (as in fast and reliable) but that customer service is limited. Any opinions on them?

Word.

The overall impression seems to be that Omnis sucks. You could gamble and hope they are all dyslectics actually trying to write "Omnis rocks", but I would play it safe.

That said, they do not have a reputation as a near scam host. They are among the crème de la caca, if you wish. While canaca.ca will use your credit card information to sneak into your house at night and take your telly and silverware, Omnis will offer a somewhat reasonable service.

It's one of those "you get what you pay for" sort of deals. You give them a little, they give you a little. If you only need "a little hosting", they may be good for you.

It's the same story 'bout EV1Servers. They will give you a medium uptime and not rob you blind at night. But then one day you may wake up to find your site is gone:

Their VPS plans are cheap and if your web sites are of limited importance - they may be the company for you.

We all cut back on different things, and if you want cheap hosting you need to find a company that cuts back on things that are not important to you. (If you don't care about your site, your money, your credit card and your mental health, even canaca.ca may have a plan for you).

Unhappy Omnis does, indeed, suck

Whatever you do, stay away from Omnis. I don't think there is a worse company - or more incompetent "support" staff.
I made the mistake of transfering my domain to them and everything since then has been a nightmare. I'm too exhausted to go into the details but let's just say I'm considering legal action against them. It's that bad.
