Question regarding Colo

I'm looking to start a little webhosting biz to host a few clients websites and what not. I've seen other people have posted asking for colo recommendations, and I've scoured the web. One problem I continually run in to is that none are in my area.

My question: Is it unusal to ship your server(s) off to a colocation datacenter? I'm a little worried about teh $88/h charges when you need them to hit the power button cause you did something stupid to your routing table.

So, if there is anyone in the Milwaukee or Chicago area offering colo, I am interested. I feel better knowing I can hop in my car and be at my server in 30 minutes. I live smack dab between Chicago and Milwaukee and have yet to find a decent offering. I'm looking for 100GB/mo for 1u or 2u (prefer 2u).
