Reseller Hosting

Hi I've been thinking about changing my reseller-hosting provider to MC Host. They look pretty good has any body used them before? If you have what did/do you think of them?

Tell me how much of business do you work out on monthly/yearly... I will let you know which provider will best suit your market.

I'm on MCHost now and I'm here looking for someone else.

Last week I was down because of a DOS attack they said was from a competitor and today they installed phpsuexec to catch the hackers and *ALL* my sights are down, they closed their forums, and they close my support tickets without a comment.

I'm commenting here because I can't comment there!

I think I'm being told to go to h*** and I'm certainly not going to continue paying $$ for this. I have to move all my clients fast or I'm out of business!

I'm more than willing to pay more than $45/mo for reliable reselling service, I need to be able to run all CMS's as my clients chose them.

Suggestions?

that doesn't sound too good. They sound much worse than my current host resellersway.com i'm just getting annoyed with them because sending emails doesn't work somethimes

After three more hits at their ticket system I received information that seems to fix the problem. I now have to make a special .htaccess file for almost 50 directories for all my clients. Sheesh! Still if it stops the spammers use of my servers php and mail it will be worth it.

I'll grant them, any host has to deal with hackers and spammers and they have a job *I* don't want to do, that's why I'm a reseller and not running my own systems.

The question as to whether they are better or worse than others... I like that they have a forum system that lets *their* customers communicate, not many do this. I wonder if they have more attacks than other systems, I don't know. Down time? 99.9% up time means an hour down every 1000, every 41.6 days, I think they are worse than that, but usually its lots of short outages.

Still I'd happily pay more than $35-45 a month for service that communicated better with me (e-mail only is fine, JUST DO IT!) so I could appear more professional to my clients.

Hey all, I am on MCHost too, but have been looking for a new provider since the phpsuexec upgrade.

My complaints with MCHost are that they do not respond to AOL blacklist issues in a timely manner and have not had their forums up for over a week. Everything was going pretty well until the phpsuexec upgrade.

I have been with them for two years and it seems that every summer there is a major problem with their service. For that reason, I am switching to a dedicated server of my own.

Here is what I have learned in the past week of shopping for a web host. If they say their servers are in Houston, TX, then they resell URL materials. If their data center is in Scranton, PA, then they resell URL servers.

I am going to lease a server directly from nocster and skip all of the middle men who create so many problems. Heck, it is even cheaper to go directly to the source.

If any of you decide that you don't want a virtual account, then drop me a line, and we can see if we can work out an arrangement on my new server - 1.7 celeron 512 MB, 100 GB B/W. That is more than I need and am willing to share that space with a responsible webmaster at reasonable rates.
