security admin NEEDED!

Hello,
I own www.websiteunited.com, and in 1 week we were attacked twice because our server lacks a firewall.

I need a security administrator who knows how to secure and monitor our ports.

How about actually learning about how to set up a server properly before advertising yourself as a webhost.

There are too many idiots who have no idea what is needed to run a server but think they can make some quick $$ setting up a hosting provider.

OK LOOK:

We manage our business and servers well, but I would like someone who can help us set up some more security options, etc. We only have 2 server technicians who have experience with SSH. Yet, we need someone to help us with firewalls, iptables, etc.

experience with SSH... you say that as if it is something special. SSH is what is used to connect to the server, ANY system admin needs to know SSH to even get to the server.

To say that you manage your servers well is a joke. If you managed your servers well you would have a proper security policy in place to try and prevent these sorts of attacks.

i dont really know to much about this stuff

but cant he just use a normal firewall like norton or something ? dont they or maybe microsoft or linux have special firewalls made for dedicated servers or something??

if they dont, they should make one, im sure lots of people would be willing to pay.

Linux has a built in firewall which is provided by iptables. He just doesn't know how to set it up correctly.

Have a read of the tutorial

http://www.linuxguruz.com/iptables/...bles-HOWTO.html

Its not a simple case of clicking a few buttons and turning it on.
