Seperate domain registration and host
Is it ok to register the domain name with one company and have another company host it?

Yes, this is very common. Some people prefer to keep everything consolidated however.

yes do
I would strongly recommend that you register your domain name seperate from your web hosting account. We've gotten many clients who have signed up with some amazing deal somewhere else that got them a free domain.. then they find out that its the worst service ever and want out, and its a huge pain to get your domain transferred away, or even get in contact with them sometimes. Also, most hosts that include domain names for free or will register domain names for you charge quite a bit more than if you just hit up godaddy.com and get it for yourself.
hope that helps ![]() |
