Setting up a server

Hi, I have just installed Windows Server 2008 Standard (trial) on a server. I can find plenty of how to's on how to install it, but not how to use it lol. Is there a complete guide how to take it from 'just installed windows' on it, to actually hosting a site? I have the domain name, and a business internet account so I was able to pay for the static IP as well. Also a new router so I am all set. I know you have to enter an IP address in the router, but not sure which IP or how to find out what is the IP of the server..also something about entering info into the DNS info...I did this a few years back but with WAMP and LAMP just on a desktop and for development purposes, and forget a lot too lol. Can someone please help? Thanks.

Hello,

1. You should add a new site in IIS7 - http://www.howtoasp.net/asp-net-hos...w-site-in-iis7/. Now you should be able to open your site via your IP address.
2. After that pointing your domain to the the new host (IP) via your domain name settings. (You should add a new A records). Now you should be able to open your site via your domain name.

Regards
