Site that sorts hosting by location

Can anyone suggest a site that can sort hosts by location? More specifically, by states and not just countries? The powers that be are indicating they want our new host to be local. Within the state is apparently local enough. Google searches aren't giving me much help. Thanks.

Have you tried searching your local white pages and business directory section of the yellow pages?

That should list many hosts and their contacts and site urls.

Unfortunately I live in a very rural area and there are no hosting services listed in our phonebook. There are very few computer services even listed. I agree that it would normally be the best place to check though.

Hi.

Is there a particular reason you are looking for hosts that are located within your area?

You can look at any business directory that can be near a major city [that is near you] or in the same state.

Even if you go to yellowpages.com, you can search by state and major cities and come up with many leads hopefully.
