Space Vs bandwidth

What is a good space to bandwidth ratio, and how much should I expect to pay monthly for a host with 2 gigs of space and all the fixins?

I always suggest paying at least 50 cents per gb bandwidth. It seems to be the secure mark to prevent getting into overnight hosts (hosts who take your money and run)

I would say that generally, there is 10x the amount of transfer there is web space.
So, for a 2/20GB Plan, I would think you are looking at about $15/month and up, anything lower will carry a risk factor.

Hope that helps

There is not generally a 10x transfer to space ratio. All hosts are different. Some will purchase servers with very large harddrives, others will not. Some will be using reseller accounts, others will not. Storage space is usually more scarce than bw transfer though.

For a host, its normal to have dual drives on a server, with the second dedicated to storing the backups on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.

As for others, there's a seperate server dedicated for all the backups, or there simply is no backup at all.
