Question Static IP
Hello, I am new to this site and I own a server on mirc. I run this using dial-up so I can't link. Is there a way or a program that will give me a Static IP while using Dial-up? Well I hope there is a way, thank-you.

but with dail up not much use of getting this best to be connected 24/24 if you want to use this service

With dial up you don't have much choice of what IP you get. not even with some of the cable internet providers.
It is up to your ISP. you could try talking to them and they could set their server to always give your MAC address the same IP.
but normally they don't bother to go through all of this!!.

This might be a lame solution ..but hay!! ..... if the number of ppl on the server is not that much, get them to connect to u by IP.. and get a website running on one of those free hosting sites and whenever ur IP changes post it on that site. So ur ppl could always get the latest IP from there.!!! lame but works

get some hosting will be much better and faster

I need somethign that doesn't cost. Will hosting cost me? If so how much? Is there a place that does it for free? If so where?
