Testing the dedicated market.
Hey, I'm looking at providing high quality unmanaged dedicated servers located in the NYC Peer1 facility.
Basically what I'm asking here is would you guys be willing to purchase a true server with quality bandwidth with the following specs for $300/month. We may even consider doing an RTO option if people are interested. Supermicro 5013C-T Intel P4 2.6GHz 800FSB 512K Cache 1GB RAM (PC-2700 DDR 333) 80GB 7200RPM IDE HDD (2MB) SATA I'm open to any comments so feel free to let me know your thoughts.

Dedicated
Hello,
Your quote seems up there a bit...from looking at a bunch of different companies i think the cheapest ones would be Cpanel.com and servermatrix.com....so far those 2 have had an edge with pricing... peace |

Yes but they are also on over crowded networks.
When looking at the pricing you need to take into consideration the quality of DC and bandwdith that is being provided. Neither of the sites you listed have a 100% network uptime SLA, private peering for the best routing etc. [edit] They also do not provide SATA drives or Hyperthreading CPUs. I should have also mentioned that the server will be configured with 2 80GB SATA drives in a mirrored raid config. Last edited by eBoundary : November 5th, 2003 at 03:55 PM. |
