    View home.html in cpanel - beginner question


    hello,

    i had just made an account 2 days ago with justhost.
    i have access to the cpanel. i put in public_html directory a home.html file with
    Code:
    <html> <body>  <h1>My First Heading</h1>  <p>My first paragraph.</p>  </body> </html>
    i right click the file and click on view , but i dont see the html file. i only see the code . y?

    It is because it opens it in a text viewer. Just like if you right clicked the file on your local system and opened it with notepad you would get text. You can view the actual file in html form by navigating to it via your URL in a browser or right clicking it on your local machine and opening it with a browser.

    hello,
    thankx for the reply.
    still i cant access my webiste.
    what i did, i bought the domain, it was free parked. then i made an account at justhost since 3 days (more than 72 hours passed)
    when i enter my domain on the url in address bar still i get "This page is parked free".

    Have you changed your DNS to point to justhost? You should have received a welcome email with that info.

    Yes, you need to put justhost DNS servers on your domain. Contact their support if you do not know them.

    change your dns to point to your new host,
    but also try changing the home.html to index.html

    but one thing to clarify, which one is supposed to change the DNS, justhost all the company i bought from them the domain?

    when you brought the hosting, justhost would have said nameservers,?

    eg,
    ns1.justhost.com
    ns2.justhost.com
    ?

    you have to point your domain nameto these nameservers,
