Hi,
Just wondering. Whats better? A cheap hosting service or something of high expense with great support, etc.

Just wondering!

Look for something in between. Never go with the lowest. Those incredibly great deals usually end up being rip offs. Find the middle man and go with him. They usually offer high service and good rates, or at least thats what we do.

Stay away from cheap and unlimited. In many cases the medium offer between the lowest and the most expensive one is your best shot.

Are you looking for reseller accounts or just a regular hosting account? Anyway -- make a list with requirements and compare. Also - submit requests to the hosts in question and ask. Compare the speed and content of the answers.

Good Luck.

Chris

i agree with the posts. You should never go with the cheapest or the most expensive IMHO. There are a lot of good hosts right in the middle. It is VERY important to talk directly with the hosts as nsusa said. Don't just rely on review websites and forums.

It really depends on what you are going to need the host for? If you are going to be hosting busy e-commerce site I will go with the "best". If you are going to be hosting your student projects going cheap will probably won't hurt you that much.

Hi

If you realy want to sign up you can at least test support services of the host. You can do it without sign up.

Just contact technical support at day, at night, at holidays, and you'll receive usual support quality of some host

That's not always the case. Some ISP could pay some college student to answer emails. And what would you ask them if you weren't a customer? I dunno, I'm more tempted to think that you should look at the services that you get for the price, coupled with 3rd party, reputable reviews and longevity in the industry.

My hosting provider (uplinkearth.com) offers 24/7/365 support but only to its customers (which is fine with me). I wouldn't want them getting distracted from my needs...and they are great, btw.

But I do agree that if you have questions about a potential hosting provider, contact them and ask questions, get testimonials, and probe around...a reputable provider will have nothing to hide.

For a dedicated server no your right it is a bit expensive but for any orders under 100 GB bandwidth it is not.

You gotta remember as you add on another level you should be adding $$ to the cost. If not you will be outta business pretty quick.

gotta keep up with that...
burst.net offers 160GB for $20 a month!!!!

If you say, pay $20 a month more, I will give you 30GB more or something and you keep the rest for profit

Again... comes the $60 setup fee
