Hi, I'm new to these forums, and find them very good.
I have 2 of my sites hosted with website hosting service, and I'm very satisfied with their service and prices. I just moved my sites over to them 2 months ago, and so far this is the best host I've been with. My two cents. URL |

ci-host
Regarding CI-HOST
make a search on them on google - last time I did a check quite alot of users were unhappy with their service. Also check out slash-dot.org for comments.... I don't host there myself so I don't have any personal experiences - I would probably use pair.com myself which gives a total of 5 unique answers to mrdon's question. =) |

well, I saw that they offer unlimited bandwidth... and I just can't find any hosts that can give me 40gb's per month...

.. at pair.com my company holds a dedicated server with 60gb pr. month.
I could be wrong but I think there is a golden rile when looking for servers to host your site; stay clear of those offering "unlimitied bandwidth". There is no such thing. Bandwidth is just about number one expense for a provider. He has a limit be sure of that, so unlimited bandwidth practically means that your site-traffic can be clogged up in the system because somebody else is tapping all the bandwith available. I would like to hear if you find somebody else than pair.com - we're in the search as well. Don't know about verio.com's dedicated servers - they're quire restrictive though... Good luck =) |

I've had a good experience with pair networks (www.pair.com). in the year and a half i've been hosting with them, my site has not been down once. i've got their el cheapo plan at $6/month, and for the money you get not a lot of features but excellent uptime. Too bad I have to look for another host that has jsp support...

Unlimited bandwidth/trasnfer and unlimited disk space are both big myths that usually mean you will get burnt down the line.
Most hosts that claim they are offering unlimited disk space or transfer usually have a clause in their contract that states just how much unlimited really is in their own definition. Hosts I've tried include: Jumpline.com - very good, but a bit slow at the moment, but they are moving to a new DataCentre soon so they really should pickup. WebFusion.co.uk - the less said about them the better, used them for 3 days, and it took 3 weeks to get the domain back from them as they hijacked it (They didn't even register it, but they did take over the IPS tag, it took the intervention of Nominet to get it back). WizardsHosting.com - top people, friendly, helpful and reliable, what more could you ask for? A good place to check out hosts is at URL and in the Web Hosting and Domains forum at URL as both have regular discusssions on who is a good host. |
