Where's the best place to register a domain name?
Just looking for some advice. Any help is appreciated.

I recommend GoDaddy.com. They have very competitive prices, and the process is quite easy. They even e-mail you to let you know when verisign is going to try to fool you into switching registrars.

I would recommend www.php4hosting.com.
I register my domains from them and have found them to be quick and helpful. One thing to look for is the hidden charges which some companies apply. php4hosting.com applies no charges should you wish to transfer the domain to hosting elsewhere this is however not the case with most companies in my experience. In fact one of my domains was registered by another company and they will charge me £90 to transfer the domain should I want to host it elsewhere... Hope that this helps.

I can recommend DirectNic, very easy domain manager.
Also, DO NOT use Netsol (VeriSign) they are the biggest bunch of a..holes. I had a client a while ago who had registered his domain with Netsol and it took me over three month of almost daily emails, phonecalls and faxes to get the domain transferred. They make it almost impossible to change nameservers etc. Mantas |

Yes, I also recommend DirectNic.com I use them for my domains... Nice Easy to use... They just don't support Dynamic DNS if that's something you're looking for... But there is an alternative... ZoneEdit.com or another DNS hosting company.

I have been using registerfly.com lately. Very nice pricing (i think 9.95 per domain) and also a very nice user administration section written in PHP....

domain registrar
I go with DirectNic.com
as mantas pointed out above, they have an excellent set of management tools. You will pay $15 per year vs. GoDaddy's $7, but they earn their $8 bucks if you ask me. -ab http://www.diywebserver.com |
