Where to host?

Hello,

I currently own a web solutions company and was curious as to what prices I should be charging for hosting. I realize it is such a saturated market, but at the same time, I need to make money from hosting my clients site. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks,

Jason

If your hosting a local market you are able to get away with charging more then a global market. Expect to pay around 50 cents per gb bandwidth for quality service.

If you are asking this then my guess is you have not sat down and wrote a business plan. If you have not then do that first, work out your costs and then divide that an aproximate amount of customers you want to put on the server.

It is very important that you make profit or you will not be in business this time next year for hosting.

Very very true. A business plan is absolutely necessary. After that is set, consult with a lawyer/accountant and make sure the legal and accounting angles are set.

If webhosting isn't something you want to concentrate on, you may want to simply resell services to cut potential loss.

The webhosting industry is just getting more saturated, and more difficult to profit on. Planning is necessary in order to succeed.
