I want to know which out of these would be good and easy to use.

The hosting decision between Linux and Windows depend on what type of scripting you need to use. Linux is cheaper and support diverse scripting to all PHP, Ruby on Rails and Python by default usually support them all but disadvantage of Linux it not support on ASP and .Net. Advantage of windows webhosting it support classic ASP and .Net script that is more powerful and popular language. Disadvantage of windows hosting it is costlier and less popular than Linux.

The benefits of choosing Linux hosting is basically it is cheaper than windows hosting.
However, you can't run all the windows compatible applications like .net applications etc.,
Anyway you need to look for a reliable hosting provider with good hosting experience to get better service.

IMHO this is a very common question. You should search for hosting provider depending on your needs. So, what exactly you would like to host?
This question can and will always be biased off many factors..
It all depends on what are your site requirements and needs. For example maybe a user has a site that is coded in a language that only windows use like asp.net i believe it is. Bare with me if I am wrong.. but it is something like this..
Also can be because of many other things .. If the user isn't to good with control panels then windows will be easy for them as it has a desktop interface the is very user-friendly and easy to use.. as linux desktops are quite confusing.
I agree. Selecting a Windows or Linux hosting platform completely depends on the preference of the user. In accordance to the current scenario, both Windows and Linux prove to be efficient hosting platforms. You can select the Windows hosting platform in case you have specific requirements of ASP.NET or if you are looking at implementing the Windows based applications.

Use Linux unless you have an application you need to run that specifically requires Windows.

It is better to pick a Web host provider based on its features and services rather than the operating system, However, if your site requires a certain language due to the programmers you work with then it would be prudent to check for system compatibility before subscribing to a host.

Both hosting depend which application you want to run on server such as if you want to run Asp.net then windows is best and for PHP Linux provide best support and Linux is cheap than windows hosting.

Windows VS Linux Hosting
Both are good to host a site. But if we consider some specific criteria’s like Stability, Features, Price and Open-source compatibility, Security etc. We found that some benefits and some loose point also.
Suppose you go for Linux its less costly because its open source. But if you go for Windows you have to buy it so its costly. Secondly if your site is developed in .net platform you should go for windows hosting because its not compatible with the Linux platform.
Hence consider those above points and choose which hosting option is better for your site.

The biggest difference of the two is the purpose they are going to be used for. Linux hosting platform is best for the traditional websites with graphics, texts, ecommerce, etc.) Windows hosting platform can handle the more detailed, interactive characteristics.

Linux and Windows based hosting both are good, stable and reliable. To host PHP & MySQL based applications Linux would be an ideal choice and for ASP, .NET and MSSQL apps Windows hosting is suitable. It all depends on the application or website you wish to host.

Windows is the most well-known operating system in the world today. This wide-spread familiarity often speeds development time for those familiar with Microsoft's array of applications, such as MS SQL. Windows also offers full support for the ASP.NET programming language.
The Linux platform is recognized for its stability and security. Using programming languages such as PHP, Perl, and MySQL, a developer can customize the variety of open source programs available for free or at low-cost to Linux users. Additionally, the system allows users to easily set permissions and password-protect directories.

The choice of Windows and Linux hosting mainly depends upon the coding technology you have used for developing a website. For example if your website is developed using ASP.Net then only Windows hosting can support it while Linux hosting can't. But the other thing is that Linux hosting is much cheaper than Windows. So according to your needs you have to choose one of them.
