Can someone recommend a host?

I am the webmaster for the band Estradasphere (throw on dot com for the site). The website is currently hosted on godaddy, which for most purposes, does exactly what we need it to. But the limit of 250 SMTP relays is killing us as far as the mailing list goes. The band has a list of 5500 names (all opted in) that need to be mailed once of twice a month. Currently, the ML is being processed by a band member, sending in batches of 500 through gmail. This is unacceptable!

I've been researching new hosts for days now, always to find that either the host has really low email sending limits, or the email limit is high and the host is terrible (lunarpages caught my eye with 14400 daily messages, but people had worlds of things to say about the quality of the site). Also, from what i gather, even though a lot of these hosts offer massive storage, they seem to disconnect people who fill even a fraction of their alloted space.

Here's what I am looking for. A linux server with 10 gig of storage (the website has a shop with numerous digital download products) and around 100 gig of bandwidth per month. But this is peanuts, I can find that anywhere. What I can't find is a host that will let me send 5500 messages to people who all opted into the damned list. I've been searching for a long time now, and it's consuming entirely too much of my time. I never thought it would be so hard, but it's absolutely impossible.

10gb storage, 100gb bandwidth (we haven't hit even half that yet, but the store is getting bigger all the time), php5, mysql (10 dbs or so), and ability to fire off 5500 messages via phplist once or twice per month. And an SSL cert too, but I assume that is a separate thing.

Anyone have suggestions? Please?

Godaddy, Lunarpages, hostgator. All thoses hosts 'oversell' their bandwidth and storage. Find a host that doesn't oversell and you'll probably find they allow as may email relay's as you'll need so long as they aren't spam.

my company fits the category of no-overselling as well as lots of others that post messages in this form (and the web hosting offers) forum.

Look for realistic bandwidth and disk space allocations (such as 1-5GB of disk space and 20-50GB of transfer). These hosts are more concerned with providing a quality 'level of service' than offering huge transfer / disk allotments.
