I'm not a hoster but have bounced between several dedicated server providers over the years. If you find the above specs for the price you're looking for I would hope that you don't expect any service. Even for the really cheap hosts Windows adds $10 to $15 / month. A 2.8 P4 with a gig of memory will be a minimum of about $95-$110 right away (and, again, that is with virtually no support) for a free O/S. Add Windows and you're out of the ball park.

I really feel that something has to give. You didn't get a viable response before because you're asking for something that, today, doesn't make financial sense for a provider. Virtual dedicated servers it seems are not an option in the Windows world as billg@microsoft.com needs to buy another island or two

I'm sorry, but it is impossible for you to get what you need for that price. You would be looking at $125 with a setup fee at the very least. I understand that you do not need much hard disk space, but that does not reduce cost much as post dedicated server providers have many 40GB+ drives in stock already.

The provider that comes closest to your budget is www.layeredtech.com. A lot of hosts that offer dedicated hosting here are just resellers of theirs anyway.

Keep in mind layeredtech is unmanaged (completely). If you need help with any issue, you'll have to pay money to a sysadmin (or service) i.e. serverwizards, rack911.

I am an experienced Sys Admin so un managed is fine. Anyway Equonix have offered me something alot better for $109 no setup with free windows and i am going to take that up , but if anyone has a better offer then let me know, post systems you have for my price range.

P.S. The spelling is difficult to remember and also Windows is so easy to manage. I find linux difficult to manage, because its is really complicated. Anyway Please do not think i am a fool for i am not. I am not perfect.

You're an experienced sysadmin yet you don't know how to spell equinix, don't know what it is, can't spell, and don't even have a close-to-dc direct price?

Equinix is a carrier-neutral dc, they don't rent out dedicated servers, only by the rack. You don't get bandwidth from them, you pay for a connect to a provider, and buying from a carrier-owned dc (i.e. peer1, savvis, etc.) costs way more than $109.

That is so obviously off of Layered Tech and goes above my price range, Also like i said Equonix has given me a satisfactory special offer. But i am considering more offers within the price range.
