Dedicated Server Required

Hi peeps,

I'm currently looking for a dedicated server that can handle about 4-5shoutcasts, may be more in the future.. i will also need high amount of bandwidth for the shoutcasts because i've worked out that on 128kbps with 100listeners i will consume around 30TB of bandwidth on one server, so my server will need to be Unlimited Bandwidth if not Unmetered completly... the pipeline is required to be 100Mbps for optimum speed. The operating system can be from windows XP through to windows Vista even server 2k3 if cheaper... overall im looking for the best price, i currently dont have any type of budget, but would be interested in what you could give.

If you have any knowledge or information you'd like to send to me please email, md[at]fulldanceradio.com .

Regards,
Hassan.

I can offer a server with 1.25 TB traffic at 100Mbit, after that is surpassed you get 10Mbit completely unmetered and you can use it as much as you want (for $65 is the cheapest server with Athlon 3700+ 1GB RAM).

The flatrate for 100Mbit completely unmetered $2600 per month + $65 for the server).

These are linux machines, but shoutcast runs there too.

First of all please be very careful of your expectations of the term unmetered. While you might have a 10 Mbps unmetered account connected to a 100 Mbps port, don't expect that your going to exceed 10 Mbps, it just means that the host will not have to monitor your account as it would be limited to 10 Mbps.

Secondly the OS can certainly be your choice with us but no matter where you go keep in mind that there is a licensing fee for Windows, whereas there wouldn't be any additional charges for linux.

Finally as to the speed of your connection, take a moment to test Caro.Net at http://speedtest.clt.carohosting.com/.

Given the opportunity I am confident that you will find a stable and fast environment to base your business at, with quality 24/7 support available, if ever necessary.

Try us out and by the way we are currently offering your second month with us for FREE!

Okay, lets stop some of these's bad hosting offers:

1) 4 shoutcasts shouldnt be hosted on an Athlon 3700+ 1GB RAM thats just stupid. Your have cpu issues after an while.

2) 1.25TB at 100mbit then 10mbit unmetered, give me a break, what sort of rig is that, its one or the other, this just seems to close to an scam.

For an durable machine check these:

Dual Opteron 2 x 248
RAM: 1GB
Hard Drive(s): 2 x 160GB
Bandwidth: 100mbit Unmetered
IP Addresses: 8 Addresses
Price $375/month (prepay for 3 months only $350/month)

something lower speced:

Dual Core P4 2.8GHZ
RAM: 1GB
Hard Drive(s): 2 x 80GB
Bandwidth: 100mbit Unmetered
IP Addresses: 8 Addresses
Price $275/month (prepay for 3 months only $275/month)

Windows is an extra $30/month or linux is free. These are fully dedicated 100mbit ports, housed in the USA.

If interested send me an email to my public email paymentls@gmail.com

Yeah dude you need a BEEF machine for this and if you EXPECT to be using 30TB/mo. of xfer expect to pay $300+ just for the bandwidth. 30TB = ~23mbit/sec contant usage. So you'd really need to be on a 100mbit connection. Whoever said you wouldn't be expected to use more than 10mbit obviously didn't even read your post.

If you're serious there are a lot of hosts in here who COULD do this however, you want to stay away from a cracker-box machine and you'll need dedicated bandwidth. (not directed at you JD)

Yeah, looks like yours is more of a scam. Why write to your gmail address if you are a so fancy hosting company?
And how can you guarantee on the website a 99.95% uptime guarantee on Windows, huh? Like you never need to update? Even MS say, that max uptime is 99.85% something...and what's with 1 GB RAM and dual opteron...why? What's the use of those CPUs if you keep swaping everything to disk when there is no memory.

BTW. I can offer the same dual opteron, but with 4 GB RAM for 50% less You should be my reseller

It could be that the SLA allows for scheduled maintenance and this would be for a server down vs the network being down.

In most cases an SLA would cover the networks uptime and where an SLA encompassed the server's uptime, if it was well written, reboots wouldn't be included. Also, I doubt very much that an SLA written to encompass the server would be available at these prices, to much risk if the host is reputable and would really back it up.

Also as noted this is Windows and experience dictates that the server will need reboots monthly, if not on a weekly basis.
