Diverse resource needs

I teach web programming and design and operate a minimal web site. I've been with a hosting company for a while and am looking for a new home.

What is most important to me is finding a host that supports as many languages, databases, etc. since I frequently will use my site to test things or for my own learning support.

The host I'm with now supports PHP, ASP, .NET, Coldfusion, MySQL, and ODBC.

Can anyone recommend a host company that's going to have (at minimum) all of these things? I've done a good bit of research but haven't run across a place that offers all of these alternatives. (ODBC isn't critical, but the rest are.)

I've been paying $20/month to my current hosting company. Something in that general range would be ideal.

Hello,
What kind of diskspace/bandwidth are you looking for?

Bandwidth isn't really a big issue for me. I want the site to be responsive, but there's not going to be anything sizable available. Last month, for example, my total web transfers were under 100 meg.

Diskspace of a gig or so should be plenty. Smaller might work as well.

I'm going to study it out a bit more and see when I should end my use of my current web host, but I think you're right. In looking around, it seems like exactly what I'm looking for.

Unless someone suggests other alternatives, this one is at the top of my list.

I'd suggest you go with Simpli Networks, I know the CEO quite well and he runs a solid shop =). Not to mention, InterNAP is very fast =). JodoHost is however very nice too, it's your decision.

OK, this is getting good. I've got a good list of 2 so far.

Here's my situation: my current host did something "very bad" in conjunction with my account (I won't go into it here). I've been with this host since 1998 and they've always done great, but this event has soured me on dealing with them. I've dealt with the company president before on numerous occasions, but after promising to look into it, he's become unresponsive.

I've requested that they give me a good sized billing credit to offset what they did. If I don't hear from them within a week or so, I plan to jump ship.

If they give me the billing credit I want, I'll have to see where that leaves me.

Hello Tony,

I understand that your previous (well, current) host has done something to upset you - and in that spirit and to help you out from this situation, we will waive the first months fees in addition to honoring the $19.95/month price as previously stated. However, in order to take advantage of this offer, you need to e-mail us at sales@simplinetworks.com and we can get you all set up. Thanks for reading!

I would read that post of mine before even considering rootaccess as your host.

Rootaccess is just a complete SCAM, they already have their WHT account disabled due to just that.

Besides, Rootaccess doesn't offer cold fusion!
