E-Conferencing Information
Hi,
I was hoping that someone could help me. I am looking to develop an online meeting room for a client. Here are some details about the project, We prefer to use ASP, but we can adapt to any programming language (PHP, .Net, etc) Each attendee will have the ability to see each other through there webcams (Live stream) Each attendee will be able to speak to one another using VoIP or alternate technology. Multiple way communication would be essential to the success of the site. What are the hosting requirements for an online meeting room? Are there any special server requirements? Thank you in advance for your help! Michael |

If you want to use voice over IP and video over IP technologies I think Flash in combination with the Adobe Flash Media Server would give you a nice solution, however the latter is rather expensive. Another way could be using Java applets.
Or, are you going to make your own client application? In that case you're not limited to browser based applets such as Flash and Java applets. |

Thanks for your reply radix, we have looked into Flash Media Server, and it seems quite good. We are looking to develop a web based application, so at least 5 people can have a meeting with each other at the same time (with live video and audio) Are there any Java applets that you recommend for this? Thanks again for your help! Michael |

I'm sorry I don't know any Java applets that could do this.
![]() I would prefer Flash though, as it loads faster than a Java applet. And you do more graphical intefacing with it. |
