Ecommerce hosting

Need a good, reliable web hosting provider capable of allowing for an ecommerce web site. Not sure how much bandwidth will be needed, but estimating that I'll need quite a bit. Ecommerce site will have roughly 500 products. Thanks for any input.

BlueHost can do it, though just about any other should let you host an eCommerce site, they let you use their own cert through secure.bluehost.com/~username if you don't want to pay for a cert (though you can also buy one if you want, thus allowing you to use your own domain for the SSL connection)

bluehost also gives you ssh (which is really really nice), they have cPanel and it can install multiple open-source eCommerce packages (like osCommerce), they give you ~1TB of bandwidth (more then enough for most people), and it starts at $6.95 for 24 months

i have a store on bluehost right now, and it has about 550 products, it doesn't use up too much bandwidth either so you will probably be fine unless you get huge and need a dedicated server

another one is iPowerWeb, i have had a few sites hosted with them, and they also have good reliability and good support, and its the same deal with SSL as with bluehost, they have less storage and transfer then bluehost but i their servers seem a little faster and i think they have a bit better reliability (netcraft always ranks them in the top 10 for reliability), they are the same price as bluehost too

As you have not mentioned how much space/bandwidth you require so I would like to suggest you to please have a look at one of the linux shared hosting for your requirements. If you have any specific queries, than do let us know.

Thanks edman... If you don't mind my asking, how much of the 1TB do you actually use a month on average? Trying to get an estimate as to how much I'll need. The site I'm creating will be for anyone outside the US primarily.

i was using 1GB a day with all images at 250kB, then i hacked oscommerce up a bit so it supported thumbs and it went down to 300MB a day, but we haven't done any advertising campaigns since then so i think with some advertising i will probably hit 1GB+ a day again, and my site also has a pretty bad google page rank so i think it will go up quite a bit when i start doing some real SEO
