Friend needs place to plunk his server in LA area
I'm posting this message for a friend. He already has a kick-*** 2U server that meets his needs. What he's looking for is a place to put it, around the Los Angeles area. Requirements are:
* Great bandwidth, close to internet backbone.
* Preferable areas are Downtown LA/Burbank/Pasadena/Glendale, but he's willing to drive further away too if the price/service is right.
* Place with low downtimes.
* Technicians that know what they're doing. My friend is going to manage his own server, but technicians should know what to do if one of their routers goes down.
* Redundant power supplies, halon, redundant cooling etc.
* Relatively secure. He doesn't want a place that doesn't have a security cam, especially since his machine is going to be in a cage with other people's equipment as well.
He was looking at Calpop.com at first, but I pointed out that their website looked a bit shoddy and had some incorrect programming too. Has anyone had any experiences with this outfit?
