Hosting Server for a lightweight PHP web app

I am looking to buy a server which can host Apache, MySQL and PHP on Linux. What configuration should I look at? Traffic wont be that hectic, it is targeted for a defined set of users (say 2000 users). And the application also wont be CPU heavy.

Most any server should meet your requirements - even shared it sounds like.
Any additional information on the platform?

I guess I was not completely clear in my question.

I am currently hosting on a shared server and it works fine. But I am planning to move to my own machine hosted in my office. Wanted to decide on the configuration of the server machine I should buy. It should be able to run Linux, Apache, PHP, MySQL and a decent control panel. Any thoughts would be welcome.

And would 10TB bandwidth be enough for such an application for around 2000 users?

You will be good with any low-end single Intel Xeon based server or even with Core i5 based machine. $ GB or 8 GB of RAM will be enough. Make sue the web host will get you enterprise HDD, for example WD RE4 or WD RE SAS hard drives. It is a good ida to ask the web hosting provider what kind of network does it use and does it own the infrastructure and the network it operates.
