I need linux hosting

I decided to have a web site (finally ) and a good friend told me that I should look for a host company with Linux servers (I dont know why though) , he just said will be better thna windows, anyway I wanted always to have my own blog or something so will be graet if I can find a host and also can install one of those free php scripts ?
I saw a site URL but I never heard of these guys, so I am not sure.
Also do I need to have a lot of traffic available to run a blog on my site?
any suggestion will be appreciated.

There are a lot of web hosters running linux here, i'm one, the above poster is one, there are many more. I'll ask a mod to move this into the requests forum where you'll get a better response.

Blogs dont usually use much traffic since they usually aren't very graphic intensive (which would probably be the only reason a blog would use much traffic - that and it being popular).

Your friend probably told you to seek Linux hosting for many reasons. Mainly because *nix hosting is usually more affordable than Windows hosting. Most popular blogs are available for *nix hosting, and the ever famous cPanel/Fantastico addons are available on *nix web servers.

The average blog uses very little bandwidth, 10GB would easily cover you. I would recommend avoiding mega oversellers like the "host" (I say "host" rather than host because they aren't really a host, rather an affiliate of Reseller Zoom) you mentioned above because they cram thousands of sites onto each server and as you can see by their prices they are an ultra budget service.
