Anyone offering you 50gigs or more of space for less than 30 a month is overselling

You will not find that anywhere. What do you need 50GB for?

Most of the sites who offer those huge chunks of space usually dnt allow image hosting as it will consume lot of their resources

Someone needs to create a sticky post about hosting guidelines. Anyone that offers 50GB, (thats 50,000 Megabytes!) for $10 is diluting themselves and operating under the assumption that the user will never, ever use even a fraction of that. MOST websites are around 30-40 Megabytes and include a 10-20MB SQL database for variable data. A site like this will probably use about 1GB of transfer. For this type of site you should expect to pay ~$2-$5 per month (depending on features, backups, mail hosting etc).

Now If you really plan to use 50,000 megabytes of data. what will your monthly transfer be? SERVER BANDWIDTH IS NOT CHEEP! .. Thus anyone selling 1TB, (thats 1,000,000 Megabytes!) of data transfer per month for $10 is again seriously diluting themselves and again hoping the customer won't use even a fraction.

To put it in perspective you would need over 3mb (mega-bits per second) to achieve a 1TB transfer. If you consider server bandwidth is conservatively $30/megabit for quality, redundant bandwidth you can see the problem.

SO... that being said. Is it possible to get 50-100GB Disk space and 1TB of transfer for $10/mo? Sure. But the reality of it is: you're probably on a shared machine with 30-100 other users who are paying for the same thing. I can guarantee that machine doesn't have 3+TB of storage and terabit connection to the internet. So if you go with a company like this be prepared that it could turn to SH*T at any time. Or you could do the right thing and host with someone who doesn't oversell (to that extent). Oh, and it never hurts to re-evaluate your NEEDS and figure out exactly how much bandwidth / diskspace you'll be using.

A good way to keep hosting in perspective is to imagine how much it would cost to build a server that would do all the things you need. If your server comes out to be $3000 then there is no way you're going to truly get those resources for $10/mo. There would be no profit for the host!
