I have been searching for a site that compares the quality of server admins for dedicated hosting but so far haven't found any. I have a good web hosting but they do not do monitoring for dedicated servers. Right now I am at my wits end with our current server admins. We seriously need to find new ones before server issues cause us to commit ecommercide.
Any suggestions? |

So far I have gotten a recommendation for the following two:
http://serverwizards.com/ http://www.linuxnetworkcare.com/ Anyone have opinions on these or want to add to the list? |

Re: admin
Hello,
The server monitoring includes many different parts. Many people think that they need to be sure that their tcp sockets are open. However that is not enough. You have to be sure that the application behind this socket is working properly... Many people think that a remote access from one single machine is enough. However if they loose that machine then they are blind(they could loose it because of hw issue , network connectivity...). What do you mean under monitoring - notification that a service is down ?!? If so then you will be notified but your services will be down. So you need a software that will bring your services up.... So many different question in one small post. Please let us know what do you need. Best Regards Kevin |
