Need Dedicated

Need a dedicated server with 99.9% uptime from established host company. Willing to pay $65-$70 mo. Very long term, with room to provide more hardware as needed.

Requirements:
PHP 5.X
Mysql 4.X
Cpanel
Good to fast connection
512-1024 mb ram
2.0 ghz+ cpu
500+ GB Transfer mo. With each additional 500 GB at $20 increments.
60-80 GB disk
100% CPU Usage
100% Mysql Usage
100% Disk Usage

This would be setup like any other standard shared hosting server like omega-server.net or hostgator.com etc etc. Except only my own sites (non reseller) would be hosted in my single account. 6 currently.

My current shared hosting is $6 mo. for 15gb space and 300 gb transfer mo., but i am on the edge of tos with cpu load limits. Great host, but they do not have dedicated.

Hi,

I would like to offer you a cPanel Xen VPS, based on Intel Quad Core servers in NL. We have been trading since 2005 500GB Monthly Transfer
cPanel/WHM(PC Smart Hosting), and will not be going anywhere soon

I can offer you the following:

Fair Share of Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (4x 2.4GHz)
768MB Ram (1.5GB Swap)
50GB Raid 1 Disk Space
500GB Monthly Transfer
CentOS 4.6
2 IP Addresses (1 More Free with Justification)

$70/Per Month

This would be semi-managed e.g. We will complete initial install for you/help with basic setup issues free.

Typical setup within 2 hours if you order before 11PM GMT.

We have a very low VPS:Hardware ratio offering excellent performance, to give you an idea a maximum of 6 VPS will be on this particular host machine. With your budget you are only really going to get a low end Celeron/Sempron server - so a high spec VPS will offer better performance. You will have no problems with CPU Usage on our platform.

Since we use Xen individual VPS can max out their CPU and other resources with no impact on other VPS. Each host machine has a 100Mbit connection, we take Premium bandwidth from XS4ALL and therefore 500GB for $20 is Impossible.

You can find a bit more information on our website: http://www.pcsmarthosting.com/index.php

Email: sales@pcsmarthosting.com
MSN Messenger: support@pcsmarthosting.com

Please note this is a custom offer and out current 10% off coupon does not apply. Feel free to use LiveChat on the site if you have any questions.

Thanks.

Currently, my host is trying to fix their setup, as I paid 1 yr in advance. But they have 2,000 gb transfer, 100gb hd + raid, very fast connection, run a duo 2.8 w/2 gb memory. This is $75 per month.

I am seeking dedicated in case they screw up the setup. They are using something call smt for admin. It's annoying and not requires the domain to be moved and ns changed before one can even configure the top domain (eek), as CP is easy even for a rookie.

I like the price and what is offered. But the transfer is very low though, and webmin I looked at and that thing is as rough as smt that aitcom uses. I prefer no top level domain, plus it have ease of use like omega-server (CP) and hostgator control panel (unknown). With theirs, the control panel is all contained within one window. hostgator is just double the industry price, and omega-server doesn't offer dedicated at all.

And no, my current host still has not fixed their setup. SMT controls. It wants to bounce off a shared hosting account I have at another hosting company, one of my small domains is set as a top level domain, which means other sites would be child domains (not subdomains). For a large company, you'd think they have their configurations figured out. Because of this, i can't even install phpmyadmin, yet alone even setup an ftp...

directadmin

directadmin looks easy to use and appears to not require a top level domain. But then there is still just the issue of 300gb transfer a month, and my requirement for Mysql 4.X...

Mysql 5.x doesn't work on 95% of any php out there without completely rewriting everything in existence.

Note, I am forcing a refund from my current dedicated host. 7 days, and they continue to blow smoke. I keep saying I will not change my ns until everything is setup and configured, but it will not configure unless I change my ns, because just installing phpmyadmin, so I can admin mysql, wants to bounce off of the top level domain which I am not taking down to experiment.

I much prefer a single cp. It appears directadmin is similar to cp.

How much BW are you currently using? 300GB is 1Mbit OR 1/10th of a 10Mbit pipe. I don't oversell my bandwidth, in fact I'm not even really in the dedicated market.

Lots of hosts will sell you 2000MB/mo. (~6mbit) but you will never see that type of transfer. I choose the realistic approach and don't BS my customers.

The primary bandwidth usage will be me converting one of my existing niche sites into including a social networking niche for rock and metal. On the music profiles, they will be able to sell their music directly from the profiles, along with a bunch of other features for general members. But by default, they will be allowed 4 mp3's for their profiles via flash player (i am still considering forcing external mp3 feeds from their own systems instead of uploading). But, considering I have no problems getting a few thousand bands to signup (along with some many majors) and 10,000-20,000 users over a short period of time, eating 500gb of bandwidth wouldn't be too difficult. This is why in my request, 500gb + $20 for each additional 500gb of bandwidth.

Everything i do runs pure php and very much non ajax, as that is slow as heck and cpu intensive. Because of me keeping the code, light, it could push a million page views a day and still have plenty of cpu load left for one small/mid server.

The other sites being added to the hosting account, is just I do not want my hosting spread all over the place as that is a waste of money.

Ahh,
Yeah, I cannot provide 500GB for $20/mo. I'll be honest, my costs for the bandwidth I use are just too high. You may want to look for a host who uses COGENT.

Well, it would depend on what you do charge. $20 is general.

I will pm to provide what i am talking about though.

well, i tried to pm, but it won't let me.

in general though, if i used external like i do with video's (youtube), spread bandwidth out over a huge traffic level is easy.
